Flea habits

Fleas are primarily parasites. This means that they live on the bodies of other animals. As a result, they need their blood in order to produce eggs. Fleas usually suck blood from their victims and lay eggs on them while they sleep.

Therefore, be careful – the animals’ resting areas (such as a dog kennel or his or her cat’s permanent corner) will be full of fleas – probably more than other places.

In buildings, it usually all starts with one cat that decided to give birth – while she is giving birth and especially resting in a certain place for a long time, the fleas recognize this and decide to attack her and start breeding on her and next to her. When we walk through the building’s courtyard – we often get bitten and in addition we may bring the fleas with us into the apartment. Therefore, if you don’t have animals and you get bitten in the building’s courtyard – the best way besides shaking your pants at the entrance to the building is to exterminate the building of fleas!

Do you have pets? You may find yourself in this situation. Your dog or cat walks outside and comes inside without thinking about whether or not they are bringing fleas into your home.

Pest control is not the be-all and end-all of it.

Do you have a pet and want to get rid of fleas? Excellent. In addition to getting rid of fleas in your apartment, you will have to treat your pet with flea products. The reason is simple – mainly to prevent the house from being re-infested.

Flea Control – How is flea spraying performed?
Flea spraying is carried out throughout the entire house.

Why is flea control carried out this way?

Because the nature of fleas is to take blood from us or the animal and then drop to the ground.
After spraying, it is recommended not to wash the floor for two days and not to walk barefoot for two days.

The time to re-enter the apartment after spraying is about an hour. For babies and pregnant women, Mazikis’ recommendation is 6 hours. For dogs and cats, the recommendation is between 6-12 hours, depending on the type of animal.

How do you prepare for flea control?

Optimal flea treatment cannot take place without the following steps:

1. Preparing the apartment for flea treatment – ​​lifting everything off the ground, moving objects away from the walls.
2. Treating animals at the same time as pest control.
3. Spraying the apartment and vacuuming after the pest control and in the days following the pest control.
4. Do you have a house with a garden? Garden care is critical to the success of pest control (especially in areas where fleas are found)

Flea control, unlike other pest control methods, will not be successful if you, the customer, do not prepare properly for this type of pest control. What you should do to best prepare for flea control are the following steps:

1. Pick up all objects from the ground, objects such as toys, shoes, clothes, etc.
2. After spraying, your bedding should be changed (wash the previous ones at 60 degrees).
3. Vacuuming the carpets, sofas and mattresses.
4. Two or three days after spraying, wash the house with plenty of water if you still feel that the fleas have not moved out.
5. After spraying the apartment, you will need to leave for an hour; animals and babies should be left outside for a few more hours.
6. Do you have an outdoor kennel, a pile of mattresses or rags that your dog sleeps on? Wash them in a hot 60 degree wash or throw them away after disinfection.

Another, equally important step is to treat your pet with flea products. Flea treatment should be done at the same time as spraying – of course, flea treatment for your pet should be done under the supervision of a veterinarian.

The final step in flea treatment is the pesticide. In most cases, we will use a substance called “Admiral Super” inside the house and a substance called “Impact” outside the house. It should be noted that it is forbidden to use substances that are clearly marked “for external use” inside the house. The above-mentioned pair of substances also contains substances that will kill the adult stages of fleas (the ones that bite you) and also an IGD (Insect Growth Monitor) against the eggs of the fleas. Only the use of a substance against the adults and against the eggs will guarantee you peace in the war against fleas.

Flea control price – How much does it cost to control fleas?

The price of flea control is slightly more expensive than the price of cockroach and ant control, mainly for two reasons.

1. Pesticides are more expensive.
2. The amount of material sprayed is much larger.

It should be noted that when you choose to exterminate fleas, you will actually also receive cockroach and ant extermination “on the go” because the entire house will be sprayed.
