Termite Feeding Stations – Do They Really Work? It’s innovative, it’s effective, and it could revolutionize the field – termite feeding stations – it works!
The termites we have in Israel are mainly subterranean termites – the ones that break out of the ground and suddenly ascend into our apartment (they can even number in the thousands).
We don’t really know whether or not termites are present until they appear in our homes, so if we have a way (and today there is) to check before we make a decision whether or not to do termite control, or if we want to monitor the termite problem after termite treatment – today there is a way and it is called – a termite feeding station .
So whether you have already carried out termite control or you suspect termites in your home – read briefly and decide whether you should have us place termite feeding stations near your home.
Below is a visual table showing the benefits of a termite feeding station:
Benefits of using termite feeding boxes | How does it work? |
---|---|
High efficiency | Feeding stations attract termites in a targeted manner, ensuring effective treatment of existing colonies. |
Long-term prevention | The stations continue to work even after the initial pest control, preventing termites from returning to the treated area. |
Focused and non-invasive | There is no need for drilling or demolition of buildings – the stations are installed outdoors or in well-defined locations. |
Safety for humans and the environment | Active ingredients in the stations are tailored to act only on termites, reducing the risk of exposure to humans or pets. |
A green and friendly solution | The use of stations reduces the need for extensive pesticides, which contributes to preserving the environment. |
Continuous monitoring | The stations allow for monitoring termite activity over time, which helps to verify the effectiveness of the treatment. |
Low maintenance costs | After initial installation, the cost of ongoing maintenance is relatively low compared to other treatment methods. |
Adaptation to existing structures | The stations are suitable for all types of buildings – offices, private homes and public buildings – without damaging the structure itself. |
How do termite feeding stations work?
Termite feeding stations are placed at ground level (“ground zero”) in the ground near the structure we want to monitor (in short, near the house).
These feeding stations are not traps but contain bait for termites. Initially, the bait does not contain poison at all but is there only to conduct an inspection and to know whether or not there are termites . If after a few weeks (when conducting the inspection) we identify that there are termites in the area, we will replace the bait with poisoned bait – the termites that not only feed on this bait but also feed the nest will take the poisoned bait and destroy the nest from the root.
Termite control price and placement of feeding stations
- Termite control – treatment of infected door frames only – starting at 500 NIS
- Termite control in a one-room apartment – 800 NIS (including 5-year warranty)
- Termite control in a 2-room apartment – 1500 NIS (including 5-year warranty)
- Termite control in a 3-room apartment – 1800-2500 NIS (including 5-year warranty)
- Termite control in a 4-room apartment – 2500-3000 NIS (including 5-year warranty)
- Termite control in a 5-room apartment – 3000-3500 NIS (including 5-year warranty)
- Termite control in private homes – starting at 1500 NIS and depending on the size of the house (includes 5-year warranty)
- Placing termite feeding stations as part of termite treatment – 250 NIS per feeding station (including monitoring after three months)
- Placing feeding stations for termites outside the framework of termite control – 350 NIS per feeding station.

Do termite feeding stations really work?
Feeding stations will eventually create a real long-term solution to the termite problem. Their disadvantage as of today is that they work slowly and customers want to solve the problem quickly (they don’t want to see a single termite after treatment).
The treatment of feeding stations can be an excellent complementary treatment (one that lasts a lifetime). By placing the stations correctly and inspecting them every few months, we can always know what is happening, whether or not there are termites in the area, and protect your home in the best possible way.
Another disadvantage of feeding stations is the location and quantity that we will have to place and put around your home. Usually, the stations are placed as close to the house as possible and at a distance of between 5-15 meters from each other. The stations should be placed in places prone to termite activity or in places where there has been termite activity in the past. Prone places can be damp areas in the garden and near trees.

The benefits of termite feeding stations
If you only suspect termite activity and are not 100% sure – just before you start termite control (which is relatively inexpensive and also includes drilling a hole between the tiles), it will be cheaper for you to place termite feeding stations around your home.
Although installing the stations will cost a few shekels, it can save you thousands of shekels if, after a few weeks (when the inspection is carried out), no termites are found. If this is the case, you have saved yourself a double headache:
- If no termites are found at the feeding stations – there will be no termites in your home.
- If there are no termites – why carry out termite control that will cost you thousands of shekels and also flood the house with poison? (We are in favor if there are termites, but if there are not – it’s a shame about the control).
From the moment these termite feeding boxes (termite traps) are placed in your yard, we will conduct an inspection once a month (the recommendation is between 1-3 months) to ensure that there is no termite activity (or there are) near your home.
If there is no activity, you are free from termites , and if there is activity, you must now take action to control termites in your home after you realize they are here, otherwise they will not go away on their own.
How to treat termites | What do we do and how do we treat it? |
---|---|
How is termite control carried out in an apartment? | In termite treatment, we drill holes between the pavers every 30-40 cm and inject between 1-3 liters of pesticide into each hole. The holes are then sealed. |
How do you carry out termite control in a private house? | We drill a hole between the tiles every 30-40 cm, like in an apartment, and also create a “protective belt” around the house. After making the holes, we seal them. In addition, termite feeding stations can be placed as part of termite control for monitoring purposes (to prevent the infestation from occurring if it turns out that they are still present after the control). Or for those who want to avoid termite control and are first interested in knowing whether there are any or not – you can place feeding stations around your private home (or building) and monitor them once every few months. |
Do I need to leave the house for termite control? | Not during the drilling phase, but as soon as you begin to carry out the pesticide application, you must leave the sprayed area for at least one hour . |
