Bed Bug Control – What Do Bed Bugs Eat?
There are many species of bedbugs, and they all feed on blood. Most species prefer mammalian blood. Some must consume mammalian blood in order to survive and lay eggs. Most bedbugs, on the other hand, will eat any blood that will help them survive, if their preferred blood is not available (in short, don’t worry about them).

Where to look for bed bugs?
It is very important to know what type of pest is in your home, as their habits and living areas are quite different. In the case of bed bugs in the home, about 70 percent of the bed bugs will be on the bed or very close to the bed area. In contrast, the hiding places of bat insects are completely different from the location of bed bugs.

1. Search the base of the bed, from all directions. Remember, bed bugs are averse to light.
2. Look in the mattress – look for black dots in the folds of the mattress.

3. Look in the panels next to the bed to see if there are holes in the wall – look there!

4. Check for black dots in the electrical outlets – this indicates feces and it is likely that bedbugs are hiding inside the electrical outlets.
5. Search the bedside tables, the bookshelf, and behind the pictures.

Can bed bugs be smelled?
Although adult bedbugs are easy to spot, you may have a hard time finding them. They often avoid light and movement by hiding in dark crevices during the day. The good news is that even though you can’t find them, you can smell them.
Like many types of insects, bedbugs release a scent called arousal pheromones . When you disturb a group of bedbugs, you may smell them. The smell may also come from their feces. The smell is often described in various ways and can be compared to the smell of coriander. Other articles refer to bedbugs as the “coriander bug.” Others describe the smell as “sweet” or “musty.”

Can your dog smell bed bugs? (Video at the end)
Dogs with a keen sense of smell may be able to find evidence of bedbugs in your home. Well-trained dogs can do a better job of detecting the smell of bedbugs over other odors in the room. Since the smell of bedbugs is subjective and depends on the number of bedbugs in your home, it is important to pay attention to any other evidence that can help you identify bedbugs. In the United States, Jack Russells are used to detect bedbugs in a room (see the attached video).
What are the signs of bedbugs?

There are many signs that indicate bedbugs in your home, including blood stains and skin flakes. Small brown or black spots on the bed, pillowcases, or furniture may be a sign of bedbugs in the room.
Although most people only find out about bedbugs after they’ve been bitten, an allergic skin reaction doesn’t necessarily indicate a bedbug infestation. Other insects, medical conditions, medications, or allergies can cause the same skin reaction.

Are bedbugs dangerous? Optional side effects
Although bed bugs are a nuisance, they are usually not dangerous. Learn more about bed bugs and their health risks.
Humans have lived with bedbugs forever, or rather, bedbugs have lived with humans since their existence.
Since bed bugs are parasites that feed on humans, our survival is critical to them.
This may be one reason why bedbugs don’t transmit diseases to humans. It’s against the bedbug’s interest to transmit something that could cause its food supply to disappear.
Although bedbugs are not capable of transmitting diseases, they can cause very serious health risks.
The most common side effect is itching, which is often accompanied by bites. Many people experience bites and redness on their skin a few days after the infestation. There are cases where the skin reaction may not appear until a week or two after the appearance of the bedbugs, and there are people who do not react at all to their appearance.

The bites are similar to mosquito bites, but they usually take longer to go away, sometimes two weeks or more. The bites can itch non-stop, and that itching is sometimes unavoidable – hence the danger.
Excessive itching can cause damage to the skin, which can lead to inflammation or infection. You should take care of your skin and try to control the urge to scratch incessantly, which can prevent severe skin reactions. If you have symptoms of a skin infection, such as a red rash that doesn’t go away, you should consult a doctor.

Beyond the dangers associated with bedbugs, the question remains, “Are bedbugs dangerous?”
They can certainly be a nuisance in your life. Lack of sleep, treatment for bites, treatment costs, and more. Some problems are simply inconvenient while others can become dangerous, especially if they affect your performance at work, road safety, or other activities in your life that require alertness and full attention.

How to prevent bedbugs from entering your home
There are several ways you can prevent bedbugs from invading your home.
Staying away from home may lead to bedbugs appearing in your home, so pay attention to your sleeping area and check that your luggage is not infested, even if you are sleeping with friends or relatives.
Carefully inspect everything that comes into your home for the first time. Furniture, electrical appliances, new clothes, and even children’s dolls may be infested with bedbugs.
Check their bed thoroughly every time you change the sheets . Bed bugs can hide for months. Some people don’t react to their bites, so looking for their tracks may be the only way to detect an infestation.
When returning from a sleepover, leave your luggage outside or in a designated area away from your home, especially bedrooms. For added safety, wash your travel clothes at 60 degrees as soon as you get home. Clothes that cannot be washed can usually be put in the dryer for 45 minutes on the highest setting. The dryer alone is hot enough to kill all bed bugs and even their eggs.
While it’s comforting to know that bedbugs don’t transmit disease, no one likes the thought of being eaten by insects, especially sneaky insects like bedbugs that eat while you’re sleeping and without your permission.
Are bed bugs dangerous enough to kill you? Probably not. But if you suspect bed bugs are moving into your home, invite us to check and we will help you get rid of the bugs using a special method we brought especially from the United States – bed bug heat treatment.

The most common type of flea
The most common type of bed bug is called “Cimex lectularius” (yes, that’s the kind that drinks you at night). Human blood is the main source of energy for this type of bed bug. Humans feed them, feed their offspring, and provide them with the essential nutrients they need to reproduce and lay eggs.
Bed bug extermination in the heat – how it’s done
It’s exactly what it sounds like – heat treatment for a room. We raise the room temperature to about 60 degrees (and more). How, you ask? With the help of a heat diffuser, a fan that circulates the room so that the heat reaches every corner, and a gas cannon.
Rapid heating by propane gas (cooking gas) so that within 15-30 minutes (depending on the size of the room) the room temperature reaches 60 degrees. The machines will work for about 1.5 hours on average so that we can be sure that no bedbugs will survive.
After about 90 minutes on average that the machines are working, we go in and spray. We spray the entire room, the walls of the room, the wardrobes, the dressers, the bed base and every other corner of the room with a pesticide called Senator to ensure 100 percent that no bedbugs will survive.
