Where are the bedbugs? Bedbugs are now found almost everywhere, in Tel Aviv (not just in the central bus station area), in Jerusalem (not just in Nachlaot but throughout the city) and in general, anywhere where people live, bedbugs can also live (we are their food).

Bed bugs use what looks like a straw at the end of their mouth to suck blood. From whom? From warm-blooded animals (pigeons, birds, and… humans ).
Adult bed bugs are round-elliptical in shape, flat (flattened) and wingless. Bed bugs are so small that they can fit into the crevices of mattress springs (we swear there are tons of examples and pictures below).

Bedbugs – General Characteristics
As adults, bed bugs are 4-5 millimeters long and 2-3 millimeters in length on the street. Bed bugs are reddish-brown in color and their color ranges from light red (when they are before a meal) to a brighter red. A second red if you will after a nutritious meal (blood meal). Some people tend to confuse bed bugs with other insects – but while most insects tend to eat our food, bed bugs’ only food is our blood. During the day they abhor light – they hide well and come out to hunt at night (especially when we are already asleep). Their bite is usually not painful, but the wound can certainly be itchy and remain for several days. Note that most bed bug bites are in series – that is, several in a row. Usually in clusters of 2-3 bites. The bites can be anywhere on the body.
A good sign that we have bed bugs will be bites on all parts of the body (bites on the back, neck, etc.) and not just bites on the legs, similar to flea bites.
Heat treatment for bed bugs – how is it done?
It’s exactly what it sounds like – heat treatment for a room. We raise the room temperature to about 60 degrees (and more). How, you ask? With the help of a heat diffuser, a fan that circulates the room so that the heat reaches every corner, and a gas cannon.
Rapid heating by propane gas (cooking gas) so that within 15-30 minutes (depending on the size of the room) the room temperature reaches 60 degrees. The machines will work for about 1.5 hours on average so that we can be sure that no bedbugs will survive.
After about 90 minutes on average that the machines are working, we go in and spray. We spray the entire room, the walls of the room, the wardrobes, the dressers, the bed base and every other corner of the room with a pesticide called Senator to ensure 100 percent that no bedbugs will survive.
If you want to keep your mattress forever, you can purchase a special bed bug case on Amazon – its price ranges from $20 to $60 (before shipping).
Can bedbugs escape the heat?
Since the heat rises so quickly, no bedbug can even think about escaping the heat. Once the heat has established itself, we use a laser thermometer to check every corner of the room (cold spots) to see if the temperature is high enough there. We cover the windows of the room with special heat-insulating material so that cold doesn’t enter from the outside and heat doesn’t get trapped in the glass windows.
One year warranty for bed bugs?
yes!
At Musicis, we believe in long-term solutions – long-term customer relationships and out-of-the-box solutions. Musicis has made a move to the heat pest control method used in the United States.
Because of this, we can give you a long warranty, longer than any other method of treating bed bugs.
How should the room be prepared before bed bug extermination?
Bed bugs are considered the most stubborn insects, and hence the prices for pest control (in the next paragraph) are derived. It is important to note that before pest control with heat, you must prepare the room. How do you prepare the room before pest control with heat? Prepare in such a way that the heat will penetrate every corner of the room, and we can also spray the room after the heat treatment without harming your valuables.
Clothes should be washed in a hot wash (60 degrees) or put in a dryer for 45 minutes. Clothes that cannot be put in the dryer or the washer can be put in the freezer for a few hours (remember, extreme temperatures kill bed bugs).
Finally, clothes that you decided not to put in the dryer or freezer can be left in a closed bag in the warm room (preferably as few clothes as possible in the room).
What is the price for bed bug control in the heat?
The price of bed bug extermination with heat is approximately 1,500 NIS per bedroom. At Mazikis, we definitely recommend treating only the infested room. Through heat treatment, we can save you sofas that are suspected of being infested. As well as beds that are suspected of being infested that are in other rooms.
Generally, heat penetrates every corner of the room – which steam and vacuuming do not do – heat treatment does and does excellently.
Why doesn’t anyone else use this method in Israel?

Mazikis is happy to be a pioneer in everything related to the heat method of extermination – even happier to solve your bed bug problem – for anything else, for any questions, we are here.

Know the enemy – bed bugs
Have you been looking for how to get rid of bed bugs? These pests have become a serious nuisance in Israel over the past 15 years (especially since we have been traveling more and more before the coronavirus). The more you know about them, the more you will know how to avoid them.
Bed bugs – the basics:
If you’ve been bitten and don’t understand what it is, start your search at the base of the bed. Most bed bases are made of wood, and that’s exactly what bed bugs need – a warm, completely dark place with crevices to hide in.
Bed bugs mature quickly – within 35 days. They usually live between 6 and 12 months – all of which makes life difficult for you – have you found a bed bug? Call or order pest control ONLINE
Bed bug bites
You will feel the bedbug bites at night when you go to sleep. If it is not your conscious mind, you will wake up with bites without realizing it – if you have already realized that you have bedbugs in your house (and you are still trying to sleep normally) lie in bed at night – wait a few minutes and the bedbugs will come to you. A bedbug bite from the moment it occurs takes an average of 10 minutes.
What do bedbugs eat? – Us
How do they actually reach their friendly hosts (meaning you)? When we sleep, our body heat, the carbon dioxide we exhale, and other biological characteristics help bedbugs understand that we are there, waiting for them.
Bed bugs drink us and then return to their safe place for a few days – this is why they are difficult to detect at first (when the infestation is high we will feel bites every night – keep in mind that it is a different person each time – if that makes any difference to you).
Bedbugs on the road
Before the Corona days, every family was in the world twice or three times – we would travel without a trace and sleep in the most bizarre places on the globe – only we also brought bed bugs with us – while we were attracted to cheap prices and new flavors – they to our suitcases and bags.
Signs of Bed Bugs – How to Identify Bed Bugs
Bed bugs are excellent at hiding – fortunately, they haven’t learned to cover their tracks.
Look for bed bug larvae (the same shape and transparent-white-pink color)
Bedbug feces look like black dots that act like a stain, not like dirt.
Blood stains on your sheets or clothes.
Signs of bedbug bites
Bed bug bites are similar in appearance to mosquito or flea bites. The main difference is in location and quantity. While flea bites tend to be primarily in the ankle area, mosquitoes in exposed areas of the body – bed bug bites can be anywhere on the body – in series of 2-3 bites in each area (back area, face, hands, groin, etc.).
Where to check?
First, check the folds in the mattress and the base of the bed. If the bed has a back and it is against the wall, check the back of the bed carefully (for this, the back of the bed must be disassembled).
Do you have a bedding box at the bottom of your bed? Great – empty it and look for live bedbugs, signs of nits, or signs of bedbug feces in all corners of the bedding box, in joints, crevices, etc.
Beyond the bed itself – look close to the bed. This refers to the panels next to the bed, the bedside table, the shelf above the bed, and any furniture you have close to where you lie down to sleep.
Then look for bedbugs in the closet (note, the instructions from the Ministry of Environmental Protection are to take out all clothes and wash them at 60 degrees or put them in a dryer) – take out the clothes and look in the closet slots and drawer rails for those sneaky bedbugs.
Do you have a sofa in your bedroom? Turn it over, tear off the fabric underneath the sofa, and look for signs of bedbugs on the wood the sofa is made of.
It’s fun to note that unlike other treatment methods that cannot save sofas infested with bed bugs, the heat treatment method saves you money and will save your sofa no matter how infested it is.
Just before you decide if you are only bitten in the room – look on the living room sofa – if you usually sleep in the living room every few nights or if the living room sofa is a second-hand sofa or a sofa “left in the apartment”, check it closely – if you are concerned about bedbugs on the sofa, you can also save it as part of the heat treatment (by bringing it into the bedroom).
Flying? Make sure you don’t come back with bedbugs
Corona, 2021-2022 Delta, Omikorn, Dubai has opened and soon we will return to flying as we used to – here are some rules that will help you not return with bed bugs in your luggage.
As we already wrote, bed bugs love to travel just like us and will arrive in our living rooms through the bags and suitcases that we take on a trip.
Want to reduce the chance of bedbugs coming back with you? Follow these tips:
Check recommendations and reviews about the hotel where you are going to spend the night – if there are reviews that report bedbugs – and book in advance.
Have you entered the hotel bedroom? Check the sheets, the headboard, and the bed base.
Do not place your luggage directly on the bed or floor – use a device designed for lifting luggage.
I was bitten by a bed bug – when will the bite go away?
Have you wondered when a bed bug bite will go away? The sign of a bed bug bite is a small red dot and may appear on your body for up to 14 days. Bed bug bites are usually in clusters – meaning not a single bite. You will usually see 2-3 bites in a semicircle or straight line. You can see the bed bug bites on every part of your body. Where exactly? On the face, on the back, on the stomach and in general all over the body – even under clothes.
For most people, just the thought of having bed bugs in their bed gives them a kind of shudder. When you consider that we are essentially the bed bugs’ “meal,” the shudder only intensifies.
Here are some facts about bedbug bites (if you have discovered them or their familiar signs).
When will the bed bug bite disappear from my body?
In most cases, the bed bug bite will disappear within 7-14 days and will not cause you any particular problem (beyond itching). The use of the word most is because there are always people who are slightly more sensitive to insect bites. The bite in more sensitive people may heal after three weeks. If you still feel the bite after three weeks, see a doctor.
When do the bites first appear?
Most bites appear on our bodies within a few hours. There are cases where the bite will appear even three days after we were stung! This depends on how our body reacts to the bite.
What do bed bug bites look like?
At first, when you are bitten and are unaware that bedbugs have moved in with you, you may wonder (and be mistaken) whether mosquitoes or fleas have bitten you. But pay attention and observe the pattern of the bites. Have you noticed 2-3 bites in a semicircle or in a straight line? A sure sign that the ones who bit you are the bedbugs.
Could it be that I was stung by another insect?
In most cases in Israel, the insects that bite are mosquitoes, fleas, and bedbugs. Pigeon ticks cause more massive itching and less bites. Mosquitoes usually won’t bite you under your clothes. In addition to the fact that mosquitoes are quite easy to repel by closing a window, applying mosquito repellent, etc.
Okay, no mosquitoes, do fleas bite me? Flea bites will first appear on your legs near the ankle. Fleas, unlike bed bugs, will bite you both in the morning and at night. Bed bugs, on the other hand, will only bite you at night.
Bed bugs will only bite you at night. The bugs will come out of their hiding place when you are lying down to sleep, the room is dark and it is early morning outside. Bed bugs will bite you all over your body, not just your legs.
I was bitten by a bed bug – how do I treat the bite?
If you are not sensitive to bites and only the aesthetic problem bothers you, then all you have to do is wait patiently. You can always apply various soothing creams such as aloe vera, etc. If you have been bitten in large numbers and you feel uncomfortable with the bites – contact your doctor. (In the picture, a bed bug on the mattress).

Can I see the bedbugs?
Unfortunately (because it’s hard for us too sometimes), bed bugs are an insect that knows how to camouflage itself very well. Despite this, there are still very specific places to look for them. Many people don’t even know what this insect looks like (see pictures and signs above). If you also want to read more about its life cycle, the characteristics of bed bugs and how to perform heat treatment (just click here).
Bed bug eggs hatch in 6-10 days, and then a new bed bug is born. Nymphs look for their next meal. The meal is us – our blood. The bed bug goes through five instars until it reaches adulthood, so its pupae are easy to spot. We usually only notice pupae after we see an adult bed bug. Bed bugs eat at least one meal in each instar. Have you found an adult bed bug? That’s a sign that you’ve eaten quite a bit (probably without knowing it).
People tend to confuse bed bug bites with mosquito bites. Have you noticed the signs? – Get rid of bed bugs quickly – these are not mosquitoes.
So where do you look for bed bugs or their signs?
First, know that no special equipment is needed – all you need is a pair of eyes.
The base of the bed – mainly in all four corners on the side facing the floor.
Bed mattress – look between the folds.
The panels next to the bed – look for holes in the panels or black spots.
Headboard. Do you have a headboard covered in black fabric? Cut with a Japanese knife and look for live bedbugs on the headboard.
Pictures – Take the pictures off the wall and see who is hiding behind the pictures?
Electrical outlets – Unplug the electrical outlet and look for signs of bedbugs or live bedbugs.
Curtains. Wash the curtain and check what is happening around the rod that holds the curtain.
These are the main places we would also check first. It is easy to spot an adult bed bug – it will be about 3-5 millimeters in size. An adult bed bug will be red-brown in color. Have you squeezed one of these? Blood should come out of it. Feel good, it is your blood. (In the photo – bed bug marks (feces) on the ceiling)
Trouble in the Kingdom – Bed Bugs in Your Room
Bed bugs know how to hide, but they don’t know how to hide their inhibitions. When you know what to look for and you already know where to look, the action becomes easy.

Search the bed base in the part not visible to daylight (the bottom). Search the back of the bed, the bedding box, and everything around the bed. Check for additional signs on the panels, dressers, curtains, and electrical outlets next to the bed. Don’t forget to check behind the pictures and under the carpet!
How to treat bedbug bites?
After you have discovered the alarming findings and the bed bugs in the room, it is time to treat the bed bugs. If you discover signs of an allergy to bed bug bites, do not hesitate to contact your doctor or dermatologist.

If the itching continues, there are many soothing ointments. Contact your doctor and ask for an ointment against bed bugs – there are also bed bug repellent ointments (with a low concentration of pesticide).
If you don’t want to apply bed bug repellent to your body, check out creams that only locally soothe the area.
